ROOM THIRTEEN - Morning Lane boast plenty of work with big names between then, but that's never enough alone for a formula for success. Thankfully their songs are equally strong as their CVs with a cool edgy feel and sincere vocals steering them towards a delightful indie tension.
Opener 'WtF' is an uplifting tune, despite its rousing cry of, "I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who doesn't know what the fuck is going on", there's a certain punk frustration ready to burst out through the occasional guitar screech. In comparison, 'Running Away' is a lilting song with plenty of power ballad potential constantly brimming beneath its forceful percussive heartbeat and searching vocals, in the end it never quite reaches that explosive climax though, settling for a mellow refrain.
'On The Road' is an aching number that tears blindly at its own soul, seeking some kind of peace that can't be found in the prowling, overdriven guitars. The chorus is a stirring affair, which should impress alone, even before a furious guitar solo in unleashed, like a wolf howling at the moon with melancholic passion. 'She Dancer' is a moving, upbeat love song that fizzes with the chemistry that a perfect song, let alone a perfect love needs. This is an epic tune to raise the hairs on the back of your neck.
Morning Lane's liberated tunes are a pleasure to hear and filled with the sparks that set a really good tune alight.

SUS - It wasn?t until I?d listened to Morning Lane for the third time that the clever lyrics and hypnogenic sounds really shone, this truly is a great band in a time where bands are being produced by labels it was great to actually hear an original band which had original tracks. Keep a look out for these guys in the future; they really are worth listening to, really great tracks. (Ben Guy)
