After playing around Sydney with various bands and other like minded musicians and also a solo act he decided in 1998 to form “Aravena”. They were played rather successfully on Nova 96.9FM a commercial radio station in Sydney.
Moving to London in 2003 he decided to form a new “Aravena” where for 2 years they would play headlining gigs up and down the country. Unfortunately Aravena’s bass player and good friend Stewart Smith died after a long battle with cancer. Stephen was crushed and gave up playing music for 6 months.
Stephen then went on the search for a band of like minded musicians who could fulfill his now unquenchable musical passion. On answering an ad in NME in February 2006; and after the initial audition it was clear for all to see that he would be perfect for “Morning Lane”
