Morning Lane is a 4 piece London-based rock band currently playing around London venues, with recent shows at Barfly, The Borderline, The Marquee, and Water Rats in front of an ever growing crowd. With their songs attracting airplay across the UK and TV exposure with the TV series "Amazing Adventures of a Nobody" (licensed in over 100 countries around the world), Morning Lane are now attracting high profile support slots such Bloc Party guitarist' side-project "Pin Me Down" and Reef's new incarnation "Them is Me". The band has also recently been recommended for Glastonbury 2009.
Morning Lane are bassist Ross Butler, drummer Jean-Marc Valat, guitarist Steve Dourdil and singer Stephen Aravena who came on board in 2006, shortly after the band released its first album Cry With A Smile on its own label. Formed from a desire to write music with passion and substance that would stand out from their contemporaries, Morning Lane's sound draws on influences as diverse as U2, The Velvet Underground, The Who, Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol, The Flaming Lips and Muse, yet remaining refreshingly unique.
Far from 'every song sounding the same as the last one', the band's music swings from dark, pounding grooves to fragile, heartfelt melodies. From sleazy, scuzzy riffs to exhilarating, uplifting choruses, as showcased on the band's recent 6 track EP Night & Day. Armed with their latest single The Touch of You, a moody and intense affair packed with the band's trademark hooks and driving rhythm section, Morning Lane are currently on the lookout for managers and promoters to help bring the band to a global audience.
